The City’s Main Library makes knowledge accessible and offers free and enriching experiences and welcome civic spaces to all of us in San Mateo and neighboring communities. It offers so much more than traditional lending library services.
Located conveniently at 60 West 3rd Avenue, the Main Library hosts a variety of programs that are tailored to the interests and needs of older adults. Museum passes, a seed library, on-site language and technology instruction, assisted genealogical research, home delivery service and a variety of assistive technologies are a few examples. Meeting rooms, WiFi, public computers and printers are all available.
City Librarian Rukshana Singh leads a team of librarians and support staff who work diligently to satisfy all your informational needs. Community engagement is a major emphasis. Check their events calendar online to see what’s coming up.
The Main Library is the first City department to apply for and earn Age-Friendly certification and is proud to be the model for others to follow. Stop by soon and view this wonderful City asset from this new perspective.
