San Mateo is home to a growing network of businesses committed to serving residents of all ages with respect, and personalized care. Age-Friendly Certified Businesses and Organizations share a dedication to welcoming environments, thoughtful patient service, and meaningful connections across generations.
Businesses that meet sufficient pre-determined Age-Friendly criteria can apply for this special designation.  A senior Age-Friendly Coalition volunteer visits the business and meets with the owner to verify the criteria checked are satisfied. Upon completion, the City issues the certification. We thank the businesses listed for participating and demonstrating this additional commitment  to our older adults. We encourage all our residents and visitors to likewise support them.
